Capturing the Essence of a Senior: A High school Senior Session at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg Campus

As the leaves begin to change and a crispness fills the air, senior year can feel like a whirlwind of emotions and milestones. Being a Pittsburgh Senior Photographer working with one high school senior, Owen, the choice to have his senior portraits taken on a vibrant university campus was more than just a backdrop—it was a reflection of his aspirations and dreams.

Arriving at the sprawling campus, Owen was greeted by the majestic architecture and vibrant energy of students bustling between classes. The sun cast a warm glow, creating the perfect setting for a memorable photoshoot. With each click of the camera, we captured not just his image, but his personality and future aspirations.

We started near the library where we used a beautiful walkway for the first setup. We continued on to the magical building that sits back of the campus and holds the administration offices. Leaning against the stone facade, he flashed a confident smile, embodying the scholar he dreams of becoming. Next, we moved to the stone bridge steps. Here, Owen kicked back on the beautiful stone steps, allowing his easygoing nature to shine through as we captured candid moments of him joking around with his friends.

As the sun began to set, we moved to a picturesque bridge overlooking a tranquil stream. Even though it wasn’t the full sunny day we had hoped, we created soft light using off camera lights. With each pose, he reflected not just who he was as a high school senior, but who he aspires to be in the years to come.

This session was more than just photography; it was a celebration of Owen’s journey. As he prepares to take the next step into adulthood, these portraits serve as a reminder of his roots, aspirations, and the exciting path that lies ahead.

Furthermore, being Pittsburghs Senior Photographer is an honor to capture these special moments for my clients. I love to give my families memories they will have to look back on for years to come.
