Photoshop is often referred to as a digital magician’s toolkit, allowing for the editing magic that transforms ordinary images into breathtaking visuals. As Pittsburgh’s family photographer, the art of polishing images is one that I truley love to give to my clients. The process begins with basic adjustments such as exposure, brightness, and contrast, which establish the groundwork for a polished appearance. Lighting imbalances can be easily corrected using the Curves and Levels tools, which enhance the vibrancy and depth of colors. However, the true enchantment is found in the ability to fix imperfections. Tools like the Spot Healing Brush and Clone Stamp make it possible to seamlessly erase blemishes, distractions, and unwanted objects. A little enhancement can bring eyes to life, utilizing the Dodge Tool to lighten the iris and add a captivating sparkle. The application of layers and masks allows for non-destructive edits that can be adjusted at any time. Final touches, like sharpening with the Unsharp Mask bring everything together, resulting in a finished, professional quality.

These adjustments transformed the image into a more polished final piece for the clients.
