Your Family Photographer

It never escapes me, the absolute honor I feel when my clients choose me to photograph their family moments. This is a blog post about my most recent newborn session with a family friend, Barbara.

I first met Barb years ago when I was introduced to her at my in-laws home during a Holiday party. I instantly saw how sweet and caring her heart is. She was so good with our kids. My husband and I decided to have her babysit for us. She happily agreed to watch the kids here and there over a few years. She became like family to us. It doesn’t hurt that we share the same love for Pitt too!! As the kids got older, our visits became less and less however, we never lost touch.

Our oldest started middle school sports and was excited that she would get to work with Barb occasionally after school practices and games. We leaned on Barb again …this time for her expertise in how best to heal those pesky sports injuries.

It was shortly after that that we heard the exciting news that Barb was getting married to Mike. These two are absolutely perfect together and we couldn’t be happier….plus Mike also is a fan of Pitt! The couple had asked if I would photograph their engagement and wedding. Now, those of you that know me ,know that I specialize in newborn photography and make an exceptions on weddings for close family and friends.

The wedding details were discussed and plans in place and then, you guessed it…COVID. Barb and Mike decided to have an intimate wedding in Barbs parents’ backyard. It was magical and perfect in every way. I think there were moments that day that I was crying with happiness from behind my camera. I was so honored to be the one they chose to capture such a beautiful day in their lives.

Now, here we are welcoming the birth of their daughter. I was over the moon and honored they chose me again to photograph their daughters newborn session. We discussed the details and waited for little miss to arrive.

The session day finally came, we talked while I created several setups. It was such a wonderful morning and one that is so special to me. If you’re wondering…yes, we did create a special ode to Pitt setup (thank you to Mike for bringing the Pitt teddy bear to use).

Thank you to Barb and Mike for allowing me to be there for you both during such milestones in your families journey together. I’m honored that you trust me to capture your family’s memories and look forward to many more. Congratulations!
