Favorite Things List for Expecting Moms

Hello and thanks for stopping by. I wanted to take a minute and discuss some of my favorite things for expecting parents, mothers and families. It’s been 10 years since I’ve had a newborn however, I ‘m constantly shopping and always talking with moms about their favorite things. So, I wanted to share some great finds that may be helpful to those who are expecting.

First, my go to sound machine in the studio is the baby shusher- the sleep miracle. I never had a sound machine with my kids when they were newborns however, I discovered this and its a staple for every newborn session. Sometimes, I even joke that the sound machine is on not only for my newborns that come into the studio but for me…its so calming. I found and purchased from Amazon and I not joking when I say parents have purchased online before leaving the studio. You can adjust the volume and it’s an easy twist on off system. It works on batteries and is small enough to sit on a shelf or dresser.https://www.amazon.com/Baby-Shusher-Babies-Miracle-Soother/dp/B00D2JN87I/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=307M5Q05YPY3X&keywords=newborn+shusher&qid=1678058050&sprefix=newborn+shusher%2Caps%2C79&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=A1BSVAFY82N85O&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzODc2TDBaUU5PSVcyJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjkyODEzM1NEOFNHVUxOVTg2TyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNjUxNjUyMU5NNEc1NDg4UjcwNCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

Next up, I recently discovered Luyna. It’s a luxury sleepwear/lounge brand that was created by a mom who wanted sleepwear that would be both comfortable and beautiful. I have fallen in love with this company. I own two of their robes and a lounge set that I live in..literally I’m never without them. They are lightweight and so soft. They offer many gifts for new moms. Check them out for sure! I always think any item or gift certificate would make a great gift for a new mom. https://lunya.co

Lastly, I wanted to mention something that was so helpful when we were new parents and something I still rely on. When my husband and I were expecting our first child, a friend gifted us “The 5 S’s for soothing babies DVD…now I’m really dating myself. ( Swaddling, side or stomach position, shushing, swinging and sucking ) I practice these techniques in the studio to soothe newborns and help them get comfortable before we begin. I’m not one to offer too many opinions to new moms…because let’s be honest, who really wants to hear everyones two cents?! lol I do get asked about how I get babies to calm and remain calm throughout the lengthy newborn sessions. I thought this one needed to make the list of my favorite things list.

I hope you found this post helpful. As always, if you have any questions please reach out. I’m happy to help.
