Are Holiday Sessions Good for Families With Young Children?

Absolutely.

One of the biggest concerns I hear from parents is:

“But what if my kids don’t cooperate?”

You don’t need to spend your session telling your toddler to sit still, look at the camera, or please just smile one more time.

With more than 14 years of photography experience, along with my background in psychology and elementary education, I approach young children differently.

Instead of expecting perfection, I use movement, interaction, play and gentle direction to help children relax.

You don’t need perfectly behaved kids to have beautiful family photographs.

That’s my job.

My goal is for Mom and Dad to walk into the studio knowing they don’t have to manage the session—I will guide you through it.

My holiday sessions are designed around a warm, neutral and earthy color palette, making them perfect for elevated family wardrobes featuring colors such as:

I love coordinating families rather than perfectly matching everyone. Layers, knits, subtle patterns and beautiful textures photograph especially well with a minimal holiday set.

The goal is a finished portrait that feels intentional and elevated—not like everyone was handed the same Christmas sweater.
