It’s time to eat cake for this little one who just turned one in September. I first met her when she came to the studio for her newborn session a year ago. I saw her moms name pop up in my contact form to schedule..I did a happy dance. The excitement I get when I know I get to work again with a returning client is pure joy.

After scheduling her first birthday session with me, I looked over her newborn session because I knew I would want to follow the same color palette to tell the story. I ordered the cake, ordered some new fun outfits and headbands in our color palette and we were off to the races.

When she arrived its like she remembered me. She smiled her big smile and it melted my heart. She was ready to have some fun in the studio and show me all her new tricks she’s been up to. This stage is always a blast because one year olds, crawl, walk, climb and do anything but sit still. I never expect them to sit and smile for the camera. So it’s my job to get them to play and do what they normally do while I capture them being themselves. We captured some traditional shots first and played dress up before getting out the cake.

I’d say this First Birthday Session was a success.
